Allegany County Department of Health – Komen Kares Breast Cancer Support Services ($50,532) This program will provide education about breast screening and detection in Allegany and Cattaraugus counties and assist women diagnosed with cancer by providing gas cards, wigs and prosthetics.

Deaf Adult Services of Western New York – Deaf Health Information Program: Breast Cancer Series ($20,000)
This project will provide culturally and linguistically adaptive breast health and cancer education to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community and their families to increase breast cancer awareness and access to screening.

This program will reduce barriers to timely screening and diagnostic services for low income, underserved women who are ineligible for state funded services because of their age.

International Institute of Buffalo – The Immigrant and Refugee Breast Health Awareness Project ($32,654)
This program will address the cultural and linguistic barriers faced by immigrant and refugee women through the use of interpreters, culturally competent health educators, and attention to cultural barriers in the health navigation process.

This program will provide programming regarding breast cancer awareness, screening and treatment for the Latino (primarily Puerto Rican) population in WNY.

WCA Hospital – Maximizing Mammography Participation ($50,174)
This program will use navigation and follow-up services for women who are overdue or miss their scheduled mammogram. Phone counselors will then help the women access breast health services by linking them to appropriate resources.
